Mw 6.6 Near Ramla, Palestine

On 29 May 1068 a strong to major earthquake occurred in the Near East. Based on the historical data available and also on the preceding planetary geometry, the seismic event probably had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) of at least 6.6.

From the 25th to the 31st three planetary alignments occurred involving Mercury and Venus with the outermost planets Uranus and Neptune. It was the second of two strong to major earthquakes in the region winthin a few months.
