Mw 7.9 San Francisco
updated UTC

On 18 April 1906 a major earthquake occurred in San Francisco at a depth of 12km. The seismic event occurred at 13:12:26 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.9.

Earth was very closely aligned with Uranus and Neptune, similar to January with the Ecuador earthquake, when the Moon made critical geometry to both planets. In April lunar geometry reached 13 on the 14th and 18th, but right before the 18th three WPG peaks converged, which made 18-19 April quite critical. In total five WPG peaks occurred from the 14th to the 18th. In 1906 six magnitude M 7.8> earthquakes occurred, four of which M 8.0>, each time when Earth was closely aligned between gas giants.
