Mw 7.0 Reykjanes Ridge
updated 1 June 2021 UTC

On 13 February 2015 a major earthquake occurred at the Reykjanes Ridge at a depth of 16km. The seismic event occurred at 18:59:12 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.0.

The Mercury-Venus-Uranus alignment on the 10th, which preceded the strong earthquake on the 11th, was followed by additional alignments on the 13th and 14th. Lunar geometry remained low at index 8, but WPG peaks continued to occur, again five that preceded the earthquake, just as before the 11th. Additional larger seismic activity was likely to occur, which it did on the 16th.
