Mw 7.5 New Britain Region, P.N.G.

On 29 March 2015 a major earthquake occurred at New Britain Region, Papua New Guinea at a depth of 40km. The seismic event occurred at 23:48:32 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.5.

Two planetary alignments on the 27th and 29th preceded the earthquake, both involving Mercury. Lunar geometry peaked 12 on the 24th and 25th and more importantly on the 28th between planetary alignments and following two WPG peaks.
