Mw 6.8 Santa Cruz Islands Region

On 20 May 2015 a strong earthquake occurred in the Santa Cruz Islands Region. The seismic event occurred at 22:48:53 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.8.

The same geometry that was responsible for the strong earthquake at the Pacific Antarctic Ridge a day earlier, also caused this strong earthquake in the Santa Cruz Islands Region. See the report below.
