Mw 6.9 Solomon Islands

On 22 May 2015 a strong earthquake occurred at the Solomon Islands. The seismic event occurred at 21:45:18 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.9.

A critical planetary alignment (Mars-Mercury-Saturn) occurred on the 19th while Earth was lining up with the Sun and Saturn. In addition, on the 21st and 22nd a high lunar peak (geometry index 12) was followed by a WPG peak, which was mostly instrumental in the seismic increase on the 22nd. See also the report above.
