Mw 6.9 Myanmar
updated 31 July 2021 UTC

On 13 April 2016 a strong earthquake occurred in Myanmar at a depth of 137 km. The seismic event occurred at 13:55:17 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.9.

The earthquake occurred days after Earth's alignment with the Sun and Uranus, which was followed by a high lunar peak (16) on the 11th. Lunar geometry continued to peak on the 14th in combination with critical planetary geometry (two alignments), which resulted in two major earthquakes on the 15th and 16th.
