Mw 6.6 Nias Region, Indonesia

On 14 May 2021 a strong earthquake occurred at Nias Region, Indonesia. The seismic event occurred at 06:33:08 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.6.

Early on the 14th Mercury lined up with the Sun and Neptune, but this usually results in seismic activity up to low 6 magnitude. Likely the multiple 90° angles on 11-12 May have contributed to this strong earthquake. This geometry will be researched further. See also the report below.
