Mw 6.6 Southern East Pacific Rise

updated 26 May 2021 UTC

On 19 May 2021 a strong earthquake occurred at the Southern East Pacific Rise. The seismic event occurred at 00:42:20 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.6.

After the 14th no planetary alignments occurred until the 28th, so the focus was primarily on lunar geometry, which reached 12 on the geometry index, both on the 14th and 18th. Further research is needed to understand the underlying geometry. See also the report above.
