Mw 6.1 Central Alaska
updated 31 May 2021 UTC

On 31 May 2021 a strong earthquake occurred in Central Alaska. The seismic event occurred at 06:59:54 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.1.

A seismic increase was anticipated because of two planetary alignments on 28 and 29 May. Both alignments involved Mercury. The second alignment also involved Earth. Lunar geometry peaked 12 on the 30th following the two alignments. No WPG peaks occurred. On the 29th from 10:40 to 13:20 UTC an atmospheric peak was recorded that indicated a possible seismic increase in Central America / US West Coast and Alaska.
