Mw 6.2 Sulawesi, Indonesia
updated 6 August 2021 UTC

On 26 July 2021 a strong earthquake occurred in Sulawesi, Indonesia at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 12:09:06 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.2.

The last week of July was considered critical due to several planetary alignments, in particular Mars-Mercury-Neptune on the 22nd and Venus-Mercury-Uranus on the 25th. Indeed, from the 21st to the 30th six strong earthquakes occurred ranging from magnitude 6.0 to 8.2, not counting aftershocks.

The earthquake at Sulawesi occurred after the Venus-Mercury-Uranus alignment on the 25th, which was followed by a high lunar peak reaching 15 on the index. Within three-and-a-half days of this alignment the great earthquake occurred at the Alaska Peninsula, which was the second magnitude 8 earthquake of 2021.
