Mw 6.1 Peru-Ecuador Border Region

On 30 July 2021 a strong earthquake occurred in the Peru-Ecuador Border Region at a depth of 36 km. The seismic event occurred at 17:10:19 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.1.

The last week of July was considered critical due to several planetary alignments, in particular Mars-Mercury-Neptune on the 22nd and Venus-Mercury-Uranus on the 25th. Indeed, from the 21st to the 30th six strong earthquakes occurred ranging from magnitude 6.0 to 8.2, not counting aftershocks.

The earthquake occurred a day after the Mars-Earth-Jupiter alignment
