Mw 7.2 Haiti Region
updated 14 August 2021

On 14 August 2021 a major earthquake occurred in Haiti Region at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 12:29:08 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.2.

Four planetary alignments from 9 to 11 August preceded the earthquake, that occurred at the time of the second lunar peak since the critical planetary geometry (high red peak). It was the fourth major earthquake in four days. On the 11th a Mw 7.1 earthquake occurred in Mindanao, Philippines, followed by a Mw 7.7 earthquake and a Mw 8.0 earthquake in the South Sandwich Islands Region on the 12th and a Mw 6.9-7.0 earthquake at the Alaska Peninsula half an hour before the earthquake in Haiti.

Several warnings were issued that it would be most critical from 10 to 14 August because of the convergence of planetary alignments from 9 to 11 August, two of which involved Earth. Warnings were also specifically given for the (South) Atlantic, South-America, Central America and the Caribbean based on atmospheric fluctuations that started on 7 August.
