Mw 6.0 Fiji Islands Region

On 7 September 2021 a strong earthquake occurred in the Fiji Islands Region at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 09:49:57 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.0.

The earthquake was preceded by two planetary alignments, most notably Mars-Venus-Jupiter on the 5th, which coincided with a lunar peak that was contributed by the Moon's alignment with Jupiter. The earthquake was the first sign of the critical geometry in the Solar System, that would lead to a major earthquake less than a day later.
