Mw 7.0 Guerrero, Mexico
updated 9 September 2021

On 8 September 2021 a major earthquake occurred at Guerrero, Mexico at a depth of 21 km. The seismic event occurred at 01:47:48 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 7.0.

The earthquake was preceded by two planetary alignments, most notably Mars-Venus-Jupiter on the 5th, which coincided with a lunar peak that was contributed by the Moon's alignment with Jupiter. Larger seismic activity was anticpated to occur around the following lunar peak on the 7th and early 8th. An important contributor of that lunar peak was the Moon's conjunction with Mars.
