On 27 September 2021 a strong earthquake occurred at Crete, Greece at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 06:17:22 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.0.

Two planetary alignments coinciding with a lunar peak on 23-24 September preceded the strong seismic activity, also on the 24th. This kind of geometry can potentially cause a major earthquake.
