Mw 6.0 Mid Indian Ridge

On 2 October a strong earthquake occurred at the Mid Indian Ridge at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 20:43:39 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.0.

The earthquake occurred within the time-frame 1-3 October that was considered critical due to a convergence of planetary geometry on 29 and 30 September. A major earthquake already occurred earlier on the day.
