Mw 6.1 New Ireland Region, P.N.G.

On 30 November 2021 a strong earthquake occurred in New Ireland Region, P.N.G. at a depth of 10 km. The seismic event occurred at 10:37:36 UTC and had an estimated moment magnitude (Mw) 6.1.

The earthquake occurred a day after a convergence of two planetary alignments, for which there was an earthquake warning. See also the Telegram post below for a depiction of the planetary geometry.
